Illustrate your dreams by Illustrator CS5

Once upon a time in Doodle Land, there is a black flower which loves drawing every thing. His name is Mr. Power. Mr. Power always use his red hat every day, every night, and in every where, although when he takes a bath and swim also. In another word, his hat is his life, and his life is on his hat. Someday in January, Mr. Power lost his lovely hat. He was panic and trying to search for his hat by asking to his family, friends, neighbors, and every flower that he meets. Nobody knows why and where the hat is. His sadness make others be sorry. Nobody knows when and who told that, the soul of Mr. Power is taken by his red hat.

Day by day, he became thin and turned into gray. And again, someone makes a new rumor that, Mr. Power is ugly when he was child, then a devil gives him the hat. Mr. Power disapointed after heard those gossip about him, then he got an idea to create a competition. Next day, in the early morning, Mr. Power and his family came to the Park, they gather citizen of Doodle Land.
"For anyone who successfully find and bring the missing hat, I will give him my own painting which is worth millions dollars," said Mr. Power. All of them just silent, looking at Mr. Power. "That means, FROM RIGHT NOW!" But again, citizen only silent and keep silent. Mr. Power is starting to cry, "Please, please... By the power of Colour, help me to find my hat." He is crying like baby. Every flower is very sad, they want to help, but how? Nobody knows.
"Mr. Power," called someone. "Stop crying. I can help you, Mr. Power," he said.
Mr. Power hold cries and look at him. He, someone who is willing to help Mr. Power, is an old flower. His colour is mixed of blue, red, green, and orange. He is smiling to Mr. Power. There is only one gold teeth left. "How could you help me, old man. While you can not help yourself, you are too old to do a long journey. I can't imagine," said Mr. power to the old flower.
"Who said that I will help you by do a journey?" The old flower is getting angry.
"Then, how?" Ask Mr. Power, "how do you search for my hat?"
"By this!" The old flower shows Mr. Power a tablet PC, then said, "this is Jungo Box, my brilliant machine." He smiles proudly, and citizen said 'Wow!', then they are chattering. "Jungo Box can make your wishes come true only by illustrate the shape,"he silent a moment, "Mr. Power, please speak to Jungo Box." He gives Jungo Box to Mr. Power.
"What should I do?" Ask Mr. Power.
"If you still remember your hat, you may start by drawing your hat on the screen. But, if you need more help, you may sketch your hat on the canvas, then follow the shape," said the old flower. Both Mr. Power and the old flower are silent. "Sketch it, Mr. Power."
"What?"
"Sketch it," the old flower repeated his words.
Now all flowers repeated the old flower words. "Sketch it! Sketch it! Sketch it!"

Mr. Power is drawing his hat on the canvas. Citizen of Doodle Land are waiting for an hour. Finally the sketch of Mr. Power's hat has been completed. But, they were surprised when Mr. Power shows the sketch of his hat. Mr. Power's hat is not red, but blue!

 

"Who is the owner of the blue hat, Mr. Power?" Ask a blue flower.
"Me. That is mine," said Mr. Power. "The originally colour my the hat is blue. When I was child, the hat was sunk in the barrel of strawberry juice. It makes my hat turn into red until, now."
"It is okay everyone. Let him draw and get his hat!" Said an orange flower.
"I don't know how to use this Jungo Box," said Mr. Power.
"Mr. Power, please let your mind communication with your hands. You have already make a sketch of the hat. You only need trust your hands and this application." the old flower gives him suggestions. "The name of this application is Adobe Illustrator CS5. I will guide you to create the hat object based on the sketch."
"Yes, please." Said Mr. Power.
"First of all, I create a new file which you will draw your hat on there, by click File > New. I set the colour mode is RGB." The old flower starts to guide Mr. Power.
"Okay, done. And then?"

"Then, selectPen tool to start make a path."
"Let's say, I want to draw the bottom of the hat, then I create a path like this and fill it with blue colour."

"To make it follow the sketch I must convert the anchor points by clicking a path, and then click to convert selected anchor point to be smooth."

"Use direct selection tool to change the shape, then hold CTRL + Selected Path." 

"But, eh, I guess the color must be changed." Said Mr. Power.
"Okay, how about this?" the old man shown Mr. Power the result.

"That's better than before."  Mr. Power smile. "But what is that?" Mr. Power pointed to a white part of the image.

"Ah! We can fill by create another shape," said the old flower. But, "We should remove the strokes by selecting the picture, then choose a white rectangle with diagonal red line inside . And again, click to make it smooth, then click to change the shape, then hold CTRL + Selected Path."
"I got it," said Mr. Power. "So, how to make it inside this picture?" Once more, he pointed to a white part of the image.
"You can send to back by click Object > Arrange > Send to back." The old flower shown Mr. Power the result.

"I create other shapes to make a shadow in the hat," the old flower continued his words.

"Then how about the ribbon?" Ask Mr. Power.
"We can make it from rectangle shapes. One is long, and others are short," answered the old flower. "As before, I changed the shape on the same way."

"Did you think that the white shape in the ribbon is a part of ribbon too?" Mr. Power screwed up his eyes.
"Yes, I do. Did you mean that's not a ribbon?" He looked at Mr. Power.
"Well, you may said that is a part of ribbon," Mr. Power winked to the old flower. "Okay then, what should I do next?"

"Next, you should create the cap by the same way," answered the old flower. "Watch me, I will teach you how to make it."
The old flower clicked this, and clicked that. Move the pointer over there, then over here. Finally, he was done. "What do you think?" Ask the old flower to Mr. Power.

"The hat looks fit to my wife," said Mr. Power.
"How could it be? I create it based on the picture that you give me," said the old flower. "If you don't like mine, just create it by yourself. Do what I said to you before, let your hand leads you."
"Well, I did. But, when I was talking to my hand, your hand always said Beep-Beep," said Mr. Power.
